Thanks guy's I'll take a look in the new year. I did try gpupdate at the time remotely but maybe I need to jump on the physical pc.

Pupils unable to launch application
I've pushed minecraft edu (appxbundle) out via sccm and confirmed is has been installed however different students logged into the same pc say the shortcut is there and able to launch it and others...
