Minecraft Education 3D Export crashes
Hello Minecraft Education Support Team,
my name is Felix. I am experiencing a persistent crash when trying to use the 3D Export feature in Minecraft Education.
Problem description:
Whenever I try to export a model using the Structure Block’s 3D Export option, Minecraft Education crashes. The export worked once with a large structure, but since then the 3D export no longer works. It now crashes even with very small test models.
I wanted to use the 3D export feature to export student-created models from Minecraft Education workshops as part of the documentation and final result preservation. These exports are important for saving and presenting the students’ workshop outcomes outside of Minecraft Education.
Tested scenarios:
- Created a new flat world
- Built a simple 5 × 5 × 5 stone cube
- Used a Structure Block for 3D Export
- Exported to a local folder instead of OneDrive or a network drive
- Used a simple file name, e.g.
test.glb - Restarted Minecraft Education multiple times
- Restarted the PC
- Reinstalled Minecraft Education
- Tested smaller and larger structures
- Removed potentially problematic blocks and entities from the structure
- Saved the structure and loaded it into a completely new world
- Tested the 3D export on my laptop as well, where the issue also occurs
System information:
- Operating system: Windows 11
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F 6-Core Processor, 3.70 GHz
- RAM: 32.0 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, 16 GB
- System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
- Minecraft Education version: 1.26.3200.0
- Export format:
.glb
Expected behavior:
Minecraft Education should export the selected structure as a .glb file.
Actual behavior:
Minecraft Education crashes during the 3D export process. No usable .glb file is created.
Additional notes:
The issue does not seem to be limited to one specific world or structure, because even a newly created flat world with a very small 5 × 5 × 5 test structure causes the same crash. Since the issue also occurs after reinstalling Minecraft Education and after restarting the PC, I suspect either a bug in the current Minecraft Education 3D export function, a compatibility issue with the current NVIDIA driver/GPU, or a problem with the GLB export pipeline.
Could you please advise whether this is a known issue and whether there are any workarounds, logs, crash reports, or diagnostic files I should provide? Since this affects the documentation of student workshop results, a reliable workaround would be very helpful.
Best regards,
Felix

Hey Felix,
Thank you for your report. I haven't been able to personally reproduce this issue; however I've sent the details over to our test team to see if we can reproduce the issue on similar hardware. If they can reproduce the issue, it's likely there's a bug on our end that needs to be looked into. If they can't we'd love to work with you to determine what the root cause could be.
Either way, I'll keep you posted here!0 -
Hey Felix,
Our team was able to consistently reproduce this issue and are looking into the core cause! Hopefully we'll have a fix for this issue soon.
I don't have any current tested workarounds for this issue; however, it does appear to only affect NVIDIA and some Intel iGPUs.0
