    Hey Kyle!

Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with this and thanks for the report. Let me ask the team about this one!

I ran into the same issue.

After checking, I noticed that a new option was added to server.properties. Once I changed the setting as shown below, Mac users were able to connect as well.

    ”transport=nethernet

    to

    ”transport=raknet

Since there isn't much detailed information available yet, I'm not sure if this is the official fix, but hopefully this helps!

    Hey there!

If you do this, it is considered a workaround because it is an older system and the workaround could be unstable as a heads up. We are happy to help troubleshoot the nethernet option if you would like instead.

Since the update, I have also been having issues where students are not able to connect to the servers.  It has been challenging to troubleshoot though as all but one of my students are remote.  I am testing the raknet work around now

Sounds good Aleece, let us know how the raknet workaround goes for you. Sorry to hear you are running into some issues as well. If you are still having issues with the raknet workaround as well, let us know and we can look into things further.

Same problem here. Raknet doesn't solve the issue. It's definitely not a network problem here: UDP packets are received, firewall rules are checked and ok, ....
Even hosting a world and joining it from outside my network works.
But connecting to a server from outside my network doesn't work. I see the server, but as soon as I try to connect I get the message "Unable to connect".
Within my network everything runs fine - but that is not the goal of running a server ;-).
So I believe it is really a problem with the server (version 1.26.32.0)
BTW: I'm running it on W11. My Ubuntu-setup didn't work either.

The raknet workaround didn't work for me.  And only people able to connect to the servers so far on any type of device have been local.  No remote connections seem to be working to servers though they are able to connect to regularly hosted worlds.

Update on my testing so far. I have been able to remotely connect to the v26.32 servers with devices/accounts that have previously connected to the worlds locally.
So obviously it isn't a IP or Port Forwarding issue on my server end. I don't think it is a firewall issues on my router or the host machines either.
I just tested with my win11 laptop and my android phone.
Hopefully I can check with some student devices that have never been local later this afternoon.

Nope the Ipad couldn't connect to the server but it was able to connect to the client hosted world on the other computer at home.

Then tried with the Windows 11 computer.  Student had previously connected to the server world in the previous version.  Server and his PC are updated to v26.32 This was at the students house wifi where I was able to connect to the server from my own windows 11 laptop and phone.  So it doesn't seem to be a networking or firewall issue.

We had my son's Windows 11 laptop with us so we tried connecting to the server from that device on my son's account.  He had never connected to the server on that device from home since he always uses the desktop at home.  That device was NOT able to connect to the server.  It was able to connect to the client hosted world.

So, somewhere there is something being collected or stored about the devices logging into the server and if they are local or not.  And if they connected locally in the past they seem to be able to connect remotely.  I really need to get this figured out.  Please help.

In my case, setting `transport=raknet` allowed Mac users to access the server.

I believe the issue is that `transport=nethernet` is not compatible with Mac OS.

In my classroom, I have confirmed that server connections work successfully on Windows 11, Mac, and iOS.

Based on the 90+ minutes I spent troubleshooting yesterday, the issue appears to only happen on Mac devices running MacOS Tahoe. One of my colleagues installed the update on a Mac running Sequoia and was able to get the program to function as expected. I am hoping this gets patched soon as I have students coming back in 10 days.

    Hi,

We have a question. Is there an expiration date on these servers? We had set one up back in the Beta phase in November 2025. This server will not work now, even with updating to the latest version.

    Hey Robyn Drabble
Dedicated Servers don't expire after any amount of time. Servers running from our beta releases should still work.
I'd love to hear more about what you're seeing on your end. Are you getting any specific errors either in the server console, or when players attempt to join?

    Hey John Phillips,
Thanks for your feedback! I'm checking in with our Dedicated Server team to see if we can dig into this a bit further and verify this issue on our end. I'll try to keep you posted with our findings.
