Enquiry?
Dear Microsoft MakeCode Team,
My name is John, and I work for Fairfield City Open Libraries, where I coordinate STEM programs across our library network.
I am interested in running Minecraft coding workshops in our libraries and would like to learn more about how Microsoft MakeCode for Minecraft works.
Could you please provide information on the following?
- How the program works in a library setting.
- Any licensing or subscription requirements.
- The costs involved.
- Any educator resources or training that you offer.
I would appreciate any information you can provide. Please feel free to contact me via email at lablx@fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards, John

Hey there!
Thanks for your interest in Minecraft Education and Code Builder! Let me help you out with those questions:
1 - How the program works in a library setting
Sure! You will have plenty of coding related worlds to explore in the library right off the bat. Or you can open up any Minecraft Education world, push "C" and open up code builder that way to have more of a experimental approach. This may be a good place to start: https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/lessons/coding-introduction
2 - Any licensing or subscription requirements / The costs involved
Pushing "C" in Minecraft Education to open up the Code Builder window in any Minecraft Education world will come with any purchase of Minecraft Education licenses. It will be $5.04/user/year for Academic pricing or $36/user/year for Commercial pricing.
If you are purchasing commercially please follow this guide: https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360061369812-Purchase-Commercial-Licenses
If you are purchasing for a school please follow this guide: https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360059957051-Purchase-Academic-Licenses-Directly
3 - Any educator resources or training that you offer
Minecraft Teacher Academy will be a great place to start! - https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/trainings/my-minecraft-journey
