Dedicated Server: Invalid Tenant ID
I looked at some of the other "Invalid Tenant ID" posts before posting. I have a class of 30+. During a class, as everybody is logging into the dedicated server, a certain percentage of the class will receive this error. They will receive it repeatedly, until finally it lets them in. The server is running 1.21.133.2 and all clients are on 1.21.133. The server has 32GB/RAM and plenty of CPU power.
This seems to happen no matter what world I'm running at the time. We use multiple worlds throughout the class, but using the same server.
Are there any server-side settings I could alter to help with this issue?

I’ve experienced this myself.
It was a situation where the tenant wouldn’t authenticate even though the ID was correct.
I tried reinstalling the software and deleting my login credentials, but nothing worked.
After trying various things, I finally found a solution.
It turned out the problem was that my computer’s clock was out of sync.
Once I reset the time settings on my computer and set it to the correct time, I was able to access the server.Apparently, if you’ve been using a computer for many years, the time can sometimes drift.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. These are brand new computers (less than a week old), and all their times are synced. The fact that it eventually lets them in made me think it might be something related to load, but our server is specced to handle this. All gigabit networking. The server doesn't appear to be under any sort of load, even when I gave Minecraft access to all the threads.

Hey Ethan Cooper
Is this over a Dedicated Server, or Peer-2-Peer session?
Since it's happening when a certain number of players join, I too suspect you might be hitting a "host cap" error. While sessions can hypothetically support 40 players, most host computers tend to only get around 15-20 before their computers resources tap out. The top number you'll hit can vary by other background tasks running on the host, other open programs, Minecraft Education settings (like Render Distance, Stimulation Distance, etc.), etc.
Let us know if you have any additional questions, or concerns!
Thank you!0 -
Hey, Kaleb,
It's a dedicated server run on Windows Server 2019. This is running on a virtual server with plenty of resources. If there are any particular settings I should look at or logs I can pull, I'll look at anything. I've love to change anything on our side that looks like it could be the problem. We have no more than 30 or so people on the server at one time. This server is dedicated to running Minecraft Education Dedicated Server.

Hey Ethan!
Thanks for confirming Dedicated Server is what you are working with.
Can we get hardware specs (or whats assigned to the VM)? Additionally editing the settings down a bit that you are using in server.properties would help. Namely things like Render Distance (view-distance) and Simulation Distance (tick distance). Let us know if that helps at all!

Sure, here are the server specs:
Intel Xeon Gold 6242
32GB RAM
32 CoresThese settings should be default, but here's what they are set to:
view distance: 32
tick-distance: 40
