Unable to verify account
Until this morning, my son was able to sign in and play on my iPad. For reasons I still can't explain, his clicked on Switch Accounts, signed himself out and now can't sign himself back in. I am able to sign in with no issue, but he receives the error message:
Account Switch Detected
We were unable to verify your account. Please sign in for b***********@*****students.net or cancel and try a different account.
He can still logon on his school iPad. I have cleared everything I can clear. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Please help.

Hey there!
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with the 'Account Switch Detected' error. Just had a few questions to help us support you further:
1 - Could you share the repro steps one by one so our team can try to replicate the issue on our end? What happened before this issue occurred?
2 - Was this device previously used by someone else? Is it a shared device? Can the old user log in?
3 - Are you able to force this to happen on a device? If we can do that locally, we can probably make some good progress on this error.
4 - Try these steps:
- Launch the Demo of Minecraft Education.
- Sign in on the main menu there, then logout and sign in to your main account after
- I know it sounds like a silly step, but one customer reported that it fixed it for them (although I think you may have to do that every time)5. How are the iOS devices are managed? What enrollment solution do you use for the device? Do you use an SSO solution? If so, which type/brand?
6. If you are still having issues, although dramatic, a complete wipe back to factory settings and backing up all your data has helped some users running into this.

Hi Danny,
My son clicked on "Switch Accounts" and the screen took him back to "Sign in". When he tried to sign back in:
1 - He typed in his email
2 - Hit "return"
3 - Was taken to idpcloud.nycenet.edu
4 - Put in his user name
5 - Hit "Sign In"
6 - Page goes straight to idp.schools.nyc and remains on "Loading..."If we sign on to the app with any other email, it works and goes to the game. His sign-in is stuck in loading limbo. If I sign in with my credentials and then go to switch user and enter his credentials, it restarts with my credentials.
We also tried the Demo method multiple times. It will not load his account. We also tried to see if he could sign in on my laptop and we are getting the same "loading" issue. The game will not allow him to sign back in with his credentials. We even factory reset my iPad and it didn't make a difference. The game itself will not let him sign in anywhere regardless of device.0 -
Hey there,
Gotcha thanks for that info. If you tried the Demo step already and it didnt help unfortunately I think the next best step will be to backup all your files and restore the device to factory settings. I wish I had a better step for you for this, but this has been a very stubborn error with little troubleshooting success aside from full resets.

We already tried that too...

Really?! Still no luck after a full device wipe factory reset? Ah that is wild. What OS version is the device on?
Is he able to use his school iPad at home?

iPadOS 16.7.14
He has been trying to use my iPad to log back in, as well as 2 laptops. He is still logged in to his school iPad which as none of his worlds or builds saved from using my iPad.

Oh! How about moving the worlds over to the school ipad?
You can copy them from here manually - https://edusupport.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/4404785703316-Location-of-World-Files

I will try that later today. Is this however to say that he can never use another device to log on every again? Meaning, if his iPad get switched out, he is permanently locked out of Minecraft Education because no other devices recognize his user name and PW anymore?

Okay let us know how the worlds work on the other device!
And nope! Other devices should work, every once in awhile Ipads run into this pesky "Account Switch Detected" error which have been a pain to try and troubleshoot, but by no means should your son be locked out of other devices.
