Music Extension blocks stick to cursor
When the note menu is selected and the mini piano appears, the "play note" code block locks itself to the cursor and follows it around. It is impossible to remove it, and it cannot even be thrown away. No other code block can be selected after this, and the only way around this is to close the editor, but this also means that there is no way of selecting notes.

Yes this has been very frustrating in our after school programs.I have found that if you exit the world and reload it fixes the block. The only by pass I have found is to either use the MusicNote enum in python instead of blocks or you can create variables or use int/float values to have the note play at a certain frequency but this is very tedious for students and requires you to look up the frequency of each note.
Additionally the music extension has a lot of issues with playing the notes back at the bpm you set it to.1 -
Hey there,
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with the Music Extension blocks and the frustrations around that. Would either of you want to make a video reproduction of the issue if I create a ticket for us?

Hi Danny!
Yes I'd be happy to make a video showcasing the issue if you were to create a ticket. Please let me know the necessary steps on my part!0 -
Hey there!
Great thanks! Keep an eye out for an email ticket, see you there! :)

Hi,
I just wanted to check whether there have been any updates on this issue.
At the time of writing, it still hasn't been fixed. It's a real shame, as I was hoping to use this extension in some of my lessons.
The problem occurs across multiple devices and browsers, so I'm not sure a video is really necessary to demonstrate it. If you open the browser version of Minecraft MakeCode, (or the Minecraft Education version) load the extension, and select the note menu, you'll immediately see the issue affecting the first two code blocks. The "play note" block becomes attached to the cursor and cannot be placed or discarded, preventing any other blocks from being selected.
If it would be more appropriate, I'm also happy to raise the issue on the PXT GitHub repository instead.
Kind regards,
Andrew

Hey there Andrew!
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with this as well. Just to fully understand the issue and to make sure you are getting the updates you are looking for, I believe a video will still help us. Unfortunately I don't see the "Note Menu" you are referring to in game. If we make a ticket for you, would you be willing to send us a video reproduction of this? I don't believe we got any other video repros yet. Then I can share with the team and ask for status of the issue and next steps. Let us know!
