Its important because my students are pretty young and switching over to javascript just to change an argument is a bit daunting to say the least. Hopefully this is being worked on.

    Hey there!

Sorry for the frustrations with this, did you notice this change happen recently or has this happened before?

I checked in with the team on this one and I will let you know any updates as they come!

The switch over to the red variables from the blue version is a recent change. I'm a teacher who works with yamaguchi. This is all a new change like in the last week, since a recent update with all the eggs images updating.

Okay, if your students are comfortable with a simple step, they can rename if they switch into Python.

I have 1st through 6th grade students living in Japan. So typing in English isn't as simple as you would imagine. Definitely could open python, but the extra typing the chance for mistakes is really not a great option. I'll probably just have alter my curriculum to  use num1, num2, and num3. I'm just wondering why they took away the extra functionality? Seems short sighted to make it less useful.

    Hi,

We are also experiencing this issue. This used to work before in a quite easy way with blocks. Switching to Python is not an obvious step as we use blocks for teaching kids who are in primary school.

When you change the names of the arguments in Python or JavaScript you are also inable to drag the argument into any blocks to use them in a chat command. The arguments are also not visible in the 'Variables' category.

So actually this messes up all code and you have to ask them to make the complete program in JS or Python. Could this be looked into. This bug has quite a large impact on our lesson materials.

Also it is kind of strange how paramters work with functions. It should kind of work the same way with chat commands? As Chat commands are kind of the same as making a function.

Also, why is it not possible to add more than 3 arguments in a chat command?
