Host Server and Join World Won't Work
Hi there, I am an educator working for a University summer camp program and we use over 100 Minecraft accounts for our summer camps.
We are having an issue where our desktops and laptops are both having difficulties hosting and joining multiplayer worlds. When attempting to host worlds, most of our accounts state "there was a problem and multiplayer hosting has stopped." Restarting hosting does not work most of the time. When Minecraft is shut down and restarted and hosting is restarted, some laptops or computers are able to host a world. When other accounts attempt to join, after two minutes of buffering saying "connecting to multiplayer game," the game states "We were unable to connect you. Unable to connect to world." The problem happens with both the join code and connection ID. We have tried reinstalling Minecraft, restarting Minecraft and restarting hosting - none have worked. We are also all running version 1.21.19.

Hey there!
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues connecting multiplayer.
Just had a few questions to help us support you further:
1.) What device make / model and OS version are you on when you got this error?
2.) Does the issue replicate on a different network?
3.) Do you get a bunch of X X X X's showing for the join code, or is it a different error message? Can you share a screenshot of the error message? (without any personal info on it please)
4.) What proxies, content filters, virus protection and, firewalls are on the device and network that you know of?

Hey Stephanie,
Are you able to confirm what OS your devices are running? Additionally, can you provide insight to any filters, parental controls, antivirus or anything else you may be using?
Thanks,0
