    Hey there!

Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with Minecraft Education and the mouse acting up.

Have you noticed this only happening after the v1.21.06 update?

What devices are experiencing this? (Make/Model)

Are you able to test a different mouse?

    Hi Danny!

Yes we've only started experiencing this bug since the end of October 2024, which I believe is around the time of this latest update.

This issue is affecting 2 different devices:

    Desktop: Dell OptiPlex Micro 7010 (2023) - 13th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-13700T, 16GB RAM, Intel® UHD Graphics 770
    Laptop : Lenovo 13w Yoga Gen 2 82YS (2023) - AMD Ryzen™ 5 7530U Processor, 16GB RAM, AMD Radeon™ Graphics

The mice being used on the desktops are standard Dell Optical Wired Mouse - MS116.
The mice being used on the laptops are the built in Lenovo touch pads and Logitech Wireless M185 mouse

The issue seems to appear across most devices we have however the chance of it occurring seems to be completely random, with some students being fine throughout the lesson and some experiencing it multiple times.

    Thank you for your help!

    Ewan

    Hey there!

Gotcha, thanks for that info! If you are willing and able, it would be great if you could send us a video reproduction of the issue.

If so, let me know and I can create a ticket for us and you can submit the video there.

We experienced a similar issue in our classroom where the mouse stops working. This might have already been resolved, but we are sharing it just in case.
    **Device Information**

Although the details of the equipment are not confirmed,
    - The equipment and internet meet the recommended specifications.
    - The internet download speed seems sufficient for a class of up to 5 students (with 3 using Minecraft).
(Download speed: 100-130Mbps, Upload speed: around 27Mbps)

    **Version**
    Minecraft Education v1.21.06
    **Report Details**
    ■ Issue Occurrence Date and Time
    2024/11/21 (Fri) 16:00-18:00
    2024/11/29 (Fri) 16:00-18:00
    2024/12/06 (Fri) 16:00-18:00
    ■ Issue Description
    - For all students, the mouse stops working midway, and the viewpoint cannot be changed.
After entering the command "run," the cursor suddenly stops moving.
This usually happens about 20 minutes after starting.
    ■ Confirmed Points
    1. Mouse
We connected the problematic mouse to other devices and checked its behavior. We tried reconnecting the mouse and switching to another mouse, but the issue could not be resolved, so we responded by restarting the application.
    Classroom Mouse:
Problematic mouse (manufacturer and purchase date unknown)
Other mice (manufacturer and purchase date unknown)
    Instructor's Mouse:
HP 240 Bluetooth Mouse (purchased in June 2024)
MSI CLUTCH GM11 WHITE Gaming Mouse (purchased in September 2023)2. PC
We cleared the browser cache on all devices before the class, but there was an issue where videos could not be viewed. We responded by restarting the application.
Classroom PCs No.1~7 (purchase date unknown)
    DELL 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz 2.42GHz
    RAM 8.00GB (7.74GB usable)
    Windows 11 Home Version 24H2
    GPU Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics
Instructor's PC (purchased in June 2024)
    HP Pavilion Plus 16-ab1000 Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 155H 3.80 GHz
RAM 32.0 GB (31.5 GB usable)
    Windows 11 Home Version 23H2
GPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX4050 Laptop GPU3. Behavior with version 1.21.03
The cursor still stops moving suddenly. When this happens, we cannot close Minecraft and always have to force quit.
When we checked again this week, the following situation was observed:

    ■ Regarding the mouse issue
    - PCs with downgraded application versions
    - PCs using trackpads without a mouse
With the above PCs, there were no mouse issues this time.
However, all PCs experienced the application suddenly closing after using the code builder, and we had to restart the application multiple times.
Both v1.21.06 and v1.20.13 exhibited the same symptoms.

    Hey there!

Thanks for all this info! So sorry to hear you are running into this.

This is a known issue with no workaround unfortunately at this time. There seems to be something going on with the 24H2 update causing mouse issues, which is why the 23H2 is very interesting to me that you are reporting the same behavior on that version as well. Did you try to roll back or was that a completely different device with the exact same symptoms on the previous version?

    Hey Danny!
Thank you for checking the post!

It is unfortunate that there is currently no solution.
It seems highly likely that the issue lies with the Windows OS...

I apologize for not including the important information that the mouse malfunction did not occur on the teacher's PC (23H2). I would appreciate it if you could share any solutions if they become available!
