    Hey there,

Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with Minecraft Education lag.

Just had a few questions to help us support you further:

1.) What device make / model and OS version are you on when you got this error as the host?

2.) Are you on the latest version of Minecraft Education?

3.) Is this a home network or school network?

4.) Is this a commercial account or school managed account?

5.) What devices are the students on that are connecting?

6.) Does this only happen in multiplayer settings or does it occur in single player worlds as well?

    Hi there,

Thank you for your response. the answers to your questions are below:

    1) system info:

    rocessor   Intel® Core™ i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90Ghz
    RAM   16.0GB (15.7 GB usable)
System type   64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

    Windows edition Windows 11 Enterprise
    Version 23H2
    OS build 22631.4169
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1034.0

    edition Windows 10 Enterprise
    Version 22H2
    OS build 19045.4894
Experience Winows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19060.1000.0

Computer Type   Dell OptiPlex 5480 AIO Series

    2) Yes, the latest version has been downloaded. I'll be honest, this has been an issue for a number of years and versions. In the past I've just said to the students to "get used to it" which they eventually do...but the more "hardcore" gamers in my group are very vocal about it.

    3) School network. The lag occurs on any of the computers regardless of it being single or multiplayer.

    4) They're school-managed accounts. We're an Office365 school where Minecraft education is part of the package for all member.

    5) They're using the school systems.

    6) All worlds and settings.

It's hard to describe, but imagine you're moving the mouse across the screen, the pointer moves with your movement exactly as you expect, but the character or items follows it like a rubber band. It's like the old cursor animation we used to have in windows where a trail of the arrows would follow your arrow depending on how fast you moved it. The items do a similar thing in that they follow the cursor as if pulled by an elastic rope.

    Hey there!

Thanks so much for the info, if you are willing I can make a ticket for us and you can share a video to the support team in the private ticket about your experience so we can share with the test team. Let us know!

    Otherwise we recommend:

    - OS refresh on one device to test

    - It is very strange, Minecraft Education shouldn't be running slow or lagging on those devices you listed, I wonder if it could be something else slowing it down like drivers or other processes. Perhaps disable other drivers / processes running in the background that are not essential to Minecraft Education running and let us know if that changes anything.

    - Could you open task manager on second window / monitor and see if anything peaks or spikes as you play Minecraft Education?

    - Close all other applications running

Let us know how things go!

    Best,
