Connecting over a LAN?
Hello
I need to host a multiplayer world for a public event. I'm concerned that the public wi-fi in the venue won't be stable enough. Is it possible for me to host a multiplayer world using a dedicated router which all the devices can connect to, but which is not connected to the internet?
If so, how can I do this using Education Edition?
I have tried to do so but just get an error message to say the world cannot be found.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Adam,
As of right now, Minecraft Education requires an internet connection for Multiplayer. This is to ensure that authentication works properly, and all students joining are part of the same tenant.Let us know if you have any additional questions, or concerns!

Thank you for your response.
One more question - would it be possible to host a multiplayer for several computers using a mobile data hotspot? I want to set up a backup in case the wi-fi at the venue is not stable enough

Hey there,
That would be dependent on the strength of your hotspot. Even the weaker venue Wifi's I would imagine would still be better than a mobile hotspot, but it is possible your hotspot could be better.
