Unusual performance
Ever since the 1.21.03 update, the game would randomly "freeze" every minute or so, causing players to be unable to interact with entities, open ui, and mobs to not do anything, but players are still able to move, break blocks, and place blocks, though blocks may not break or place after the freeze has ended. These weird freezes also affect all players in a world at the same time whenever it occurs, therefore it's not a device-exclusive problem. I have observed that the sun still moves, therefore the world is still running, mobs also finish their last movement sequence before stopping.
Other aspects of the game's performance have become significantly worse as well since the update; chunk loading is much slower and there are way more crashes. I also heard that the game consumes an extremely high amount of ram on certain devices.
All of the above seems to only occur in multiplayer worlds.

Hey there,
Sorry to hear you are running into some performance issues since the update.
Could you please share the device specs RAM/ CPU/ Storage Space/ GPU of the device?
Also what is your devices CPU / Memory usage while playing Minecraft Education?

My device is an ASUS Chromebook CR1 (CR1100)
RAM: 4GB LPDDR4X (on board) - 4G max
CPU: Intel Celeron N4500 Processor 1.1 GHz (4M Cache, up to 2.8 GHz, 2 cores),
Storage: 32GB eMMC
GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs
CPU usage while playing the game can range from 50-90% depending on what I'm doing.
RAM typically hovers around 400 megabytes.
This is with nothing other than diagnostics running in the background.
This is during singleplayer, so it may not be very accurate or useful.0 -
Thanks for this info. That does seem higher than usual for sure.
I will share this with the team for thoughts!
