Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with the "Something Went Wrong" error.
I have some steps to go through for troubleshooting:
1.)Have you / your IT allow listed all URLs from this page? : https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360047118992-FAQ-IT-Admin-Guide-
2.) Do you have a proxy or web filter that might be blocking the apps connection to our services? For Chromebooks, if you have a proxy, this is likely to happen since Chromebooks dont have full proxy support at this time.
3.)Back up any worlds, Uninstall and Reinstall App from this page: https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/get-started/download
4.)Are all OS's on the latest version? If not, I would recommend updating to latest OS version.
