unable to connect to library.
Hi guys, my daughters school iPAD with minecraft edu verison 1.20.12 (latest one i think) and iOS7.1 on 8th gen Ipad just cant connect to the library. Settting are completely the same as her brothers one which connects fine.
We are able to login with her school account and she can create and host her own worlds but gets the error message when trying to assess anything under the VIEW LIBRARY section or the NEW AND FEATURED on the front screen.
Pretty sure its something to do with the app save files or certs that even deleting the app doesnt remove from the ipad. should i attempt a hard reset to wipe everything and try reinstall again or is there a way to enable library access on this ipad.
we tried logging in her account on brothers ipad and library runs fine on the other pad.

Hello,
I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble accessing the in-game library. Odd that her brother's connects just fine.
Are they from the same school?
Does it behave the same on the school network?
Take a look at this article for tips on how to troubleshoot this issue: Troubleshoot the Unable to Connect to the Library Error

thank you for replying,
yes both same school, and library doesnt load on daughters ipad whether on school or home network. all other apps with online function/login work fine.
ended up backing up the ipad then giving it a factory reset.
Reinstalled Minecraft EDU and login using same account again, everything worked fine, able to access all libraries, nil errors. (this was also done by another user in another thread a few years back who had similar error)
Also to note : i noticed the account had a DID but no MCID initially even after app install without factory reset. But right after the factory reset and login, the same account had both DID and a new MCID assigned. not sure if that caused the error as brother's account had both DID AND MCID right from the start. though it doesnt explain logging in using her account on brothers ipad, the game works fine, even without MCID.
Only conclusion is that somehow during the initial install and login the library file that had the function/handler for online library connection was corrupted and stayed that way despite multiple app updates/reinstalls. Perhaps it might be helpful to have a function to clean up all leftover cache/app files when uninstalling minecraft from the ipad, as it seems some leftover files were affecting the connection function as multiple uninstall/reinstall does not solve the problem.
Does minecraft EDU leave behind some library files after an uninstall is done on the ipad?

Really good work here. I'm glad you were able to find a solution.
That is very strange the account had no MCID. This is likely something I will need to inquire about with future users having this issue.
I am not sure what all may be left over after an uninstall, but there have been several cases where Windows users needed to run a registry cleaner when having installation issues. It is definitely something for the team to investigate.0
