Minecraft stuck at login screen Mac OS (MEd 1.20.12)
Hi,
I'm having problem launching Minecraft Education edition (1.20.12) on Mac OS Sonoma 14.0.
It's a fresh download (never run MEd on this mac) and it got stuck after login (see screenshot).
The login details is definitely correct since I can log into MEd on my iPad.
Any ideas how to diagnose the issue?

I'm a brand new user of MEE, and this is my first install of it onto a macbook pro M1 pro 2021 running Ventura. I can download, install, login, and then it seemingly freezes with "Signing into...<email address>".
Is the common thread in this... thread that it's only people with Apple silicon having issues?0 -
Hey there!
Oh no sorry to hear you are having some issues.
Just had a few questions to help us support you further:
1 - Has it worked prior?
2 - Are you on the latest version of Minecraft Education?
3 - Is this a home network or school network?
4 - Is this a commercial account or school managed account?
We are still trying to determine a common thread.

@Ryan, after reading what you posted, I tried the same thing and got similar results, back in the beginning of December. The hang-up happened as MEE was trying to contact [https://in.appcenter.ms/logs?api-version=1.0.0]. According to my log as well, it couldn't establish a secure connection.
I also tried to copy the contents of ~/Applications/Minecraft Education.app/Contents/resources/data/ to ~/Libraby/Application Support/minecraftpe/games/com.mojang/ to see if that would help with the Global resources error. It did remove the notification, but the freezing behavior remained.
SAME POST EDIT:
I just booted up the game and it loaded all the way to the "Sign In" prompt. After logging in with my Microsoft Account, it froze once again. I force quit the program and reopened it to find it prompting me to sign in again. I let it sit there for about 15 seconds, within which, it froze. I then tried to run the executable from within the APP itself. It automatically signed me in this time, but froze immediately after. While it's not the full output, this is what I got from the terminal:Not sure if this will help the devs at all, but my fingers are crossed.

Sorry we missed your post somehow! No real updates as they are all different on a case by case basis. We will need some logs, so we can open a ticket for you and keep chatting there!

Does anyone solve this issue?
I guess its related to the Apple M1 Pro chip.

I did some additional troubleshooting yesterday on the same Mac(s) having this issue. Im fine with opening a ticket, that said, I downloaded the Beta Version 1.21.51 and it works fine for logging in. Hoping when this version is officially released it will stay the same. Class tools current version, for reference also works fine with logging in.

Hey Deanne,
I created a ticket for you and just sent you a response.
I also wanted to acknowledge that this is currently a known bug we have, and we're working on a fix in our upcoming hotfix (no specific ETA at this time).
In the meantime, our preview version of the app should work on affect MacOS devices. If it doesn't, we'd love to hear from your and potentially work with affected users to see if there's another cause at play.
If you need the general release to work, a few steps that may work for you are below:- We have heard of limited success by creating a new MacOS user and running the app under them.
- If you have any firewalls, proxies, or av programs, it may be worth testing without those installed to see if the issues still occur.
- Lastly, we have had success in users resetting their Mac devices. This is a nuclear option, and we highly recommend backing up your files before doing so.
If none of the above options work for you, or you need additional assistance, our team would love to work with you to help get you back up and running!

Hi Kaleb,
I looked for a macOS version of the preview app but could not find it. Could you point me in the right direction?

Hey there!
Currently Minecraft Education preview is not for MacOS, sorry about that! More info here:
The beta for MacOS however can be found here: https://edusupport.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/4407483028116-Download-Minecraft-Education-Beta

There is no preview for Mac, but there is a beta, sort of the same idea. I was able to download the beta and did not have the sign in issue. V 1.21.51. Hope this helps. Beta download is on a different page
