Code Builder Not loading with Tutorial
Hello,
The tutorials for some of the worlds I am using in class will not load the tutorial unless I select a tutorial from another lesson in the same world first. This is becoming a problem because now we are in worlds with just one lesson and they are not loading either. I have cleared cache, installed latest software and cleared all worlds. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, Eric Nedow - is this a problem you encounter when you are in the main window trying to find them? In other words, you say they don't load, so do you mean you don't see them? or you see them but they won't start?
It sounds frustrating, I'm sorry. So, you are in a world with one lesson, That means your student is in Minecraft, and they have a Minecraft world open, just that one world. And you are having trouble finding tutorials. We are talking about the MakeCode tutorials?It definitely would help to know what is going on, especially if things are different on different computers. Eric, just to be sure, you aren't using any mods but regular Minecraft worlds, and everyone is on the latest version? Definitely, want to help on this, so please let us know!

Hi everyone,
I've been experiencing exactly the same issue since last night. I was in the middle of a class with my students and when we tried to get into a lesson the tutorials just wouldn't load. Code builder was stuck in a "Starting tutorial..." loop and I can't do anything. The weird thing is that this happened on most, but not all computers. Two students have no issue, while the teacher's (mine) and most of the students' computers have this issue. I don't have this issue on my laptop or home computer either and everything worked fine on all computers the day before.
I tried repairing, reinstalling Minecraft Education, but nothing seems to fix this problem. I've also tried downloading the lessons from this website, but even then the tutorial won't start. Also, it's not just one lesson; Code builder doesn't work in any of the Coding Fundamentals lessons I've tried opening. It works just fine in a generated world, but not if it is a lesson that has a tutorial. This is extremely frustrating, and I hope that a solution is found as soon as possible because I have Minecraft programming classes every single day.

What is the make and model of the devices are you using? Are the 2 students that are able to enter using the same devices as everyone else?

Hi Ernie.
They are all custom-built PCs running Windows. I'd have to check the exact specifications if it's important, but if I remember correctly they've got Intel i7 processors and pretty decent graphics cards. The two students who aren't experiencing any issues use the same type of computers as the rest of us. But we've been using these same devices for Minecraft for over 3 years now, they've got no problem running Minecraft, so I doubt that it has anything to do with the problem at hand. As I said, everything worked great on all devices up to a day before the problem started.0 -
I'm wondering if this could be a permutation of the problem some folks have had with code builder not loading. The not loading problem was solved by exiting code builder, and removing the agent, then re-entering code builder.
I had a student have this problem (with code builder not loading), and we did this (by using the chat command /remove @c ). I also reset the code editor. It fixed the code builder not generally loading problem.

Hi Debbie,
Thank you for your answer. It's a great trick, but I don't think I can use it in Coding Fundamentals lessons. Just tried it and the game says that the world doesn't permit the "remove" code to be used in this world. Do you know of a way to bypass this blocking process? I tried setting the world into creative mode, myself as an operator, and enabling cheats, but still doesn't work. I also tried enabling worldbuilder mode, but that too is blocked for lessons, so I don't see a way to remove my agent in order to try your method.0 -
