Old student signed in new student cannot sign in
Hi,
On a windows lab computer some students must have signed in and checked the "remember me" box. All students use a generic "student" windows account to log into the computer. They would then each log into their own Microsoft account to play minecraft. However we are stuck on the sign in screen where it is asking for the password for johnsmith@myschool.com. However John Smith is not in this class. From this screen there seems to be no way to change users so a new user can sign in.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hey there!
Very odd!
Can you please provide a screenshot / video reproduction of the error so we can support you further? (please leave out any personal info :) )
Can you try backing up your worlds, uninstalling and reinstalling from https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/get-started/download?
Does the issue persist on a different network?

I have the same issue. A student from last year come up on the login and because they have moved school and we don’t know their password they remain on the login page. I have tried forgot password then change user but they login keeps popping back up. I have redeployed the app (uninstall/reinstall) but keeps happening. Any other suggestions.

Hey there,
Sorry you are running into issues with old logins. We see schools reset their devices after cohorts when cohorts come and go, is this a possibility for you all?

Danny I was given the path to where the file is stored so that I could turn off the setting for auto log in, and that reset it for me, but I can't put my finger on the directions. I believe it's just the remember me toggle in the the game data, but I don't want to guess at it. Do you have this?
Is this it?https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/19311978311700/comments/19376176236820

Multiple edits get funky =] I am adding the image of the file I found on my mac. The link may help you find the file on your PC. You need to change the ones to zeroes for the two highlighted fields.

I have someone having the same issue here only on iPad. How can we adjust these settings on iPad without logging in?

Hi, Craig. So you have one student successfully logging onto an iPad with their MC:EDU account. Then another student logs onto the same iPad and cannot get access because the previous credentials are the only ones they can see? Am I understanding the problem?
On my iPad, I can open Minecraft, see the previous log in, click manage account, and then click sign out. Is that option available for you?

We can't get past the screen with the previous students' login details and when we try to put someone else's information in it is rejected. There is no back button to move back to the original sign in screen.

Hey there Craig!
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with this.
Just curious, when you click the cancel button at the top right of the window, what does that do? You mentioned
'There is no back button to move back to the original sign in screen.', so just curious what that button does.
Otherwise, this sounds like an issue you will need to reach out to your IT admin about this. They are in control of accounts and know how this window operates.

Hi I have this issue too. Hitting cancel brings you back to the username screen, but it autofills with the previous user and then navigates right to the password screen. There is no way to erase the previous users credential before it auto-clicks to go to the password entry.

Hi Andrew. I want to help, so let me be sure I am tracking with the sequence of events. You are on a PC? and you open the Minecraft app? and you see the previous user's email address, and you do nothing at all but it takes you to a password page?
Is this continuing after restart, and only on a single PC? Did you see the post I made above about the sign-in options data file which can be edited? Can you try to edit that file?
Generally, I would suggest trying to open the demo, but I am getting the idea that somehow this is not possible for you. I would suggest editing that file above. The file path will probably be somewhat different, since my school computer is a Mac. :/ Just change the highlighted lines from ones to zeroes. That should sto the automatic sign-in.Of course, there has been an update since then, so it may not look identical, and it may not even work this way anymore, but if you are stuck, it's worth a shot! Let me know how it goes. We'd like to help!
