Hosting a 24/7 server
I was wondering if there was a way to host a server 24/7 so it is accessible to anyone at any time. I have a server ready I just need the files needed to be able to host it.

Hey there!
Not at this time unfortunately, however it is a highly requested feature the team has in mind!

Hey there!
Good news! We are testing dedicated server in Beta at this time, with an official release soon!
Setting up and managing servers is limited to IT Administrators, and Staff. You can learn more here: Dedicated Server 101 – Minecraft Education

Kaleb, just wondering, how does this update get pushed out? Usually, I can just visit the Microsoft store and check for updates, but since the admins have to approve the servers will that affect if I can update my Minecraft?
Also, I know this is based on each school, but does each teacher have the permissions to set up a server?
One more thing, will this eliminate the ability to host with the four symbol code by eliminating it or will it still be an option?

Hey there Augie! Let me see if I can help clear some of this up:
1 - Updates are pushed when Minecraft Education updates. IT admins setup the update cycles differently, but once the update gets to your device the content should be there.
2 - Currently IT admins are the only ones who set these Dedicated servers up, but we are investigating teacher setup options.
3 - The four symbol code will still be an option for you!

That helps out lots! Thanks.

Hi, just curious if these servers will be allowed to be made by students, or if it is restricted to staff? Thank you

Hey Cephas Baey
Creating servers is restricted to IT Administration, and Teachers (if enabled by your IT Administration). Students cannot create dedicated servers.0
