Troubleshoot the Unable to Connect to World Error
Can’t connect to other worlds in multiplayer? Playing with others is fun and it can be frustrating when we can’t connect. Different things can cause connection issues. This article provides information on how to troubleshoot issues connecting to multiplayer games when Minecraft Education indicates it can’t connect to the world.

Solution |
The users are not on the same tenant. |
No solution. A tenant consists of a group of users. If a user is not part of the tenant, that user cannot connect to the world. This is by design for player safety. |
The world is not in host mode. |

Players are not on the same version of Minecraft Education |
Have all players update to the latest version. |
Your network is not allowing traffic to and from URLs required for multiplayer connections. Some ports may need to be opened as well. |
Add all required URLs to your network allow list. Refer to the FAQ: IT Admin Guide – Minecraft Education article for a list of all the required URLs and ports. |
