System Requirements
At this time, Minecraft Education is supported on Chromebook, iPad, Mac, PC, and mobile (Android and iOS). This article provides information on the minimum requirements for each platform.

32-bit Support
- Windows 32-bit support removed
- Based on current usage and feedback, we are not ending support for Android and Chromebook 32-bit devices at this time. We do plan to end support for these devices in a future update, but those plans will be announced before they take effect.
RAM Minimum Requirements
- Minimum and recommended memory (RAM) requirements will increase.
Operating system requirements
These are the operating systems (OS) that we support for Minecraft Education.

Note: The Minecraft Education Client is not supported on any distribution of Linux (Ubuntu, EDUbuntu, ZorinOS Education, Debian EDU, Ubermix, etc.). Using emulators to emulate other platforms (such as Android, Windows, or otherwise) are not supported methods to run Minecraft Education on Linux.
*Note: Minecraft Education should be able to run on the minimum supported operating systems; however, the experience will generally be better on the latest OS. Issues discovered that are specific to the minimum supported OS versions will not be prioritized.
**Note: ChromeOS and Android devices must support Google Play Services in order to use Minecraft Education and be supported. Platforms such as ChromeOS Flex, Amazon FireOS, HarmonyOS, and similar devices may not be able to install Minecraft Education and are not supported. Additionally, Android emulators, besides the ChromeOS native one, are not supported.
Hardware requirements
These are the minimum and recommended hardware requirements needed to run Minecraft Education.
Minimum specifications: Should allow you to participate in all common scenarios in Minecraft Education - such as library content, coding, and multiplayer - with some limitations such as low frame rates, shorter rendering distances, occasional lag, and performance issues. When hosting a multiplayer session of 5 or more people you may experience significant performance issues such as lag, rubber-banding, players disconnecting, inventory not opening, etc.
Recommended specifications: Should allow you to see consistent performance for all common scenarios with minimal limitations and should allow you to successfully host larger multiplayer sessions with 10 or more participants.
