Please clarify and send screenshots to assist further. Are you saying you can only play solo and not join any multiplayer games on Minecraft Education?

At the gear at the top right of your screen you can submit a ticket. If you submit a ticket a download link for 1.14 can be provided.

If you re-install Minecraft Education, the worlds won't get deleted. They are saved locally but I recommend exporting your worlds and having backups in case anything happens to them.

Did this occur after updating or something change with your system? You can try copying the world within Minecraft Education, delete the world file, and then host the new one.
