Feature: Communicate with your licensees before an update...
Hi,
This has been a rough year for Minecraft at my school and the entire Northern Territory in Australia. Due to the inadequate Minecraft update QA testing this year, my class has only been able to properly access Minecraft for less than 1 out 3 school terms so far, and term 4 isn't looking promising...
In Term 1, students couldn't log in at all.
In Term 2, Minecraft worked until the latest update where they could no longer host/connect to worlds.
In Term 3, Students still can't connect.
Term 4, ...
Whether the technical fault lies with Minecraft or our government's IT management department, the common link is that Minecraft is making changes in its update that effect whether it works or not without communicating it beforehand or at all.
This is really sloppy and degrading to your brand when there is a really simple fix. Can you please make sure you are directly contacting your Licensees (hopefully before an update, though I will take "at all" at this point...) about anything they need to change/whitelist so that when the update rolls out, we don't have to spend months waiting for Minecraft to even work.
Seriously, this isn't rocket science. Minecraft charges a premium price to license, yet the service and quality is even less than what you would get from a free service. I love using Minecraft in class, it is amazing for so many things, however, as a teacher with enough things to worry about, I am always going to pick things that work and are reliable first. If you would like to continue enjoying the money you get from school departments, you are going to need to step up your game.
In good faith,
Joz, Australia.
