code builder issues
When my students run a program in code builder and press run, the button turns red and then nothing happens. Is this because of an internet issue?

David Beattie is correct that the events map has a bug in the world, which we are addressing. However, you van still complete the exercise directly in MakeCode. Just follow this link! https://education.minecraft.net/world/d2cd4c86-55c0-4fc2-88eb-556ce2ba5882

Hello, Himani Sharma - it's so great to hear that you and your students are using code builder! I am assuming you are in the MakeCode block coding within Minecraft (not online.) Are you seeing this happen in many cases, or just sometimes? In general, when I see something happen that just doesn't make sense, my first responses are to be sure I have saved my recent work and try a fresh start. I restart Minecraft, and if that isn't the magic pill, I restart my computer. Internet troubles definitely can cause glitches, in some devices more than others, at least in my experience. (I'm no expert!)
After that, I would try backtracking a bit in my code. Try adding things step by step and see if you can get back to where things are running. Remember! that some code runs without anything "happening." For instance, if you have an "on player" command, the code keeps running, waiting for you to chat, or jump, or whatever the event is that will trigger the command.
Let us know how things are going. =]

Hey Thanks, Debbie for answering. Actually, I just started with the "Preventing forest fires with AI" lesson with the students. And the first activity is pretty simple. And I am not facing this issue on my system. But, when my students are clicking on the play button it goes red, and then the code does not work. I guess it has something to do with the Internet. But thanks for answering. I really appreciate it.

I am having the same issue with one of the tutorial Code Builder worlds. Used to work, but not in this latest version of Minecraft Education (Mine Craft World - Events). When the students go to the Expert level and build the code for the glass wall, and they try to execute it in the chat window, nothing happens.

Ahhh, evidently some of the worlds built in older versions were messed up by the update. Sadly, there is no protocol to check these updates against all of the existing worlds against older tutorials. When you think of the breadth of testing involved, it is a bit sympathetic, but right now there are problems. The big dogs are working on it, and fixes are planned. So sorry for the delays. I could wish for no updates right before the beginning of the school year, but Minecraft is a world-wide product. Ultimately, it's everyone's school year. Again, so sorry for the troubles.

what is the fix then? the worlds were "messed up" - so what should teachers do?

Hey Everyone! Just an update. This issue was coming due to some firewall issue. Firewall was not allowing the code to execute. Now it is fixed. Thanks a lot Debbie Alexander for your support. For the teachers and educators who are facing this issue, please check your firewall settings.

"Cannot access blocks outside of the world" while trying to clone. Can someone shed some light on this message, please? Outside World? Is it referring to chunks?

I apologize! You were tagging another issue at the end here, and your concern did not get noticed. =[
I assume this is a parameter problem. Can you post what you were entering?
The agent has only so long a reach, also. I hope this helps.
