Multiplayer not working since last update sometimes Let connect and sometimes not regardless of accounts.
Sometimes when I want to enter a second time it disconnects the rest of the players.

Thank you for letting us know about this. At this time a bug report was created to address this issue. The upcoming patch will hopefully resolve this issue. Thank you for your patience.

Hey all!
As Dominick mentioned, the team is looking into some long term fixes for this issue.
In the meantime, have your IT Admins both allowlisted our new URL?
https://*.minecraft-services.net/
URLs Used by Minecraft: Education Edition – Minecraft: Education Edition Support

I tried adding the allowlisted URL, but my computer says it is not a valid web address

something like that is happening to us but it doesnt work all together😢

David, try adding without the https: and just pasting from www.
Also some don't like wildcards so you may need to delete the *
I had to do this within the google admin console because I couldn't add whitelisted domains with either of those.
To update for everyone else experiencing this, I am dealing with the same (4 chromebooks, 1 of which just blackscreens, the other 3 working fine except multiplayer not working, error connection timed out.) Rarely I can get one of the chromebooks to join a PC or something but eventually someone joining just kicks everyone else out.
However for whatever reason when I have a chromebook host a game, I can join with my google pixel 6 anytime without a problem, smooth and works like a charm. I also notice a stagger on the moving bars when its trying to connect on chromebooks, like lag. Perhaps a part of it is simply optimization issues just causing it to take too long and time out? Whitelisted all the urls on my firewall, but the chromebooks run without using any firewall program.

Hi Jesse Rector
We thought that one of our PCs was working fine, but eventually, when adding many people, it dropped everyone out. Looks like a performance issue, because we cannot find a root cause and it will fail with many different configurations, devices, hosts, etc. We are going to take some logs today to send to MS. Did you find anything new?
Thanks0 -
Thank you for providing all that information, everyone. We are curious if other users are also seeing that when to many people join, they experience the same thing as Juan. Let us know your findings.

I cannot get my students to join my world. It times out for all of them. I've had IT dept try to sort it out to no avail. I teach pre-service teachers and I want them to be able to use Minecraft when they begin their teaching careers, but we've been trying to sort this issue out for the last few weeks and cannot find a way forward so my uni IT dept have given up. It's shame. I now have to tell students that teaching with Minecraft is not reliable :(

I am sorry for this inconvenience and the issues we are facing at this time. Did any of the potential fixes listed above help at all? Are you able to provide us with any information on your devices or network (what kind of firewall)?

Thanks for the response, Dominick. The issues are ongoing. The IT dept has tried all the suggested troubleshooting tips to no avail. I've had to abandon the Minecraft tutorials because students are finding it too frustrating. I'll try again next year.

Sorry for the inconvenience Khyiah!
We can't wait to see you back next year :)

Hi Khyiah,
Dominick sorted us out as per the URLs Used by Minecraft: Education Edition – Minecraft: Education Edition Support (the new URL missing was the issue), however we still needed to tune (unblock) subsequent endpoints' web filtering access to local subnet URLs so the MinecraftEE endpoints could reach 'http://<HostEndpointIP>/ssdp.xml' file.
Ultimately, check the endpoints' firewall/web filtering logs to be certain nothing is being blocked.

i dont know if this is a glitch but it says connection timed out can someone tell me what that means

Hi, Broderick Teeuwenr - I am imagining that simply means that whatever communication was occurring between your computer and the MC servers, too much time elapsed without successful resolution. Maybe it was a poor internet connection,
Are you having trouble signing in? See if you can get in on a free hour of code game Sometimes that makes the game finish set-up, and then you can get in after that. =D

I have also been experiencing problems hosting students in my World for the last week or two. I would like for us to work together in the Digital Citizenship world, but they cannot join me for very long. It is inconsistent. Either they cannot join at all or only for a few moments. I look forward to the patch. I see over 200 students a week, so I am not able nor willing to add websites to whitelists on each device.

This is an extremely frustrating issue. The new URL has been added to our approved list and the problem has not been fixed, students still cannot join a multiplayer server. What other troubleshooting can we do to try and resolve this problem?

We recommend running an HTTPS scan on the network you are trying to connect through while reproducing the issue. URLs that are listed will need to be allow listed and that can clear up the issue. The other find is that firewalls are blocking communication and will need to be looked at. You can try turning off the firewall as a test to see if it helps to isolate if that is the issue. Thank you for your patience with this as we find a solution.
