I use F3 all the time in Java. It would be a great help to have it in MinecraftEdu!

  YESS!! The F3 feature would be a really fun and much awaited as there is no quick way to know the day count, light level or most of the other things shown in the F3 screen in java edition. Hope this gets added soon.
