Code connection error
If it is difficult to use the education edition, I sometimes use the Bedrock edition to teach.
However, it has not been possible to connect to Bedrock Edition through code connection since a few days ago.
Maybe it's because of the update of Bedrock Edition 1.18.30.
Is there a solution to this problem?
The message comes out.->Please update the application to the latest.

Hi, I have an issue with MEE 1.17.32 within my schools LAN, up until recently, the join code has been generating as it should but now has stopped, is this part of the same bug that's being investigated by the devs?
Thanks

Today is 06/12/2022 and I'm still getting the "upgrade to latest version" error from Code Connection.
Is there a workaround?
Is there an ETA from the devs?

There is not current update or fix we can offer at this time. You can try using the Minecraft Education Beta we offer (1.18.1) to see if that changes or resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience.

I have the same problem, and since this post is 3 months old I don't think your devs are working on this anymore. Whay was Code connect stopped? It worked so well and my kids enjoyed it so much.

Hey there Pieter!
We all still love Code Connection as well! I am glad your kids enjoyed it too. While there are no updates I am aware of to this issue currently, code connection is still something we all care about.

Hi Danny
That is great to hear that you still care about it. :-) But it would be even greater if you guys can make it work again. :-) We are using the Bedrock edition, not the educational edition of minecraft and it use to work great with that version of minecraft.

I feel you on that Pieter!
I'll let the test team know :)
Thanks!

If we own Minecraft for Windows can we run the educational edition or is it a different license?
My grandchildren are getting restless and want to resume learning to program via Code Connection.

Let us know what we can do to expedite this! I’m a software engineer and can provide detailed technical feedback & testing if need be.
Eager to get this up and running for my students!

Greg!
Love to hear your grandchildren love code connection. You can either get code connection for bedrock edition and learn more here - https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360047555251-Get-Started-With-Code-Connection- or you can even purchase your own Minecraft: Education Edition license here! - https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360061370372

Danny,
I subscribed to the Education Edition, however, I cannot login because I only have a personal MS Windows account. The system is requiring a work or school account.
Do you have a workaround?

Is there perhaps an open standard/document (or can it become open) that a developer can use to interface with minecraft bedrock edition to spawn and control that agent so that one can perhaps do some more advance stuff where the standard tools might be lacking e.g. connect to external APIs or IoT devices etc. I think all that exists in the Java edition of minecraft.

Hey Greg!
Just wanted to clarify, so you have purchased Minecraft: Education Edition with a commercial license but you are having trouble logging in?
0 -
No. It let me sign up for an annual subscription which I apparently cannot use. I did not understand that I must be an educator to use the Educ Ed.

My understanding is that Minecraft Bedrock has been re-branded as Minecraft for Windows 10. I own that version, which no longer works with Code Connection and is what brought me here.
I was hopeful when you suggested that I buy an Educ Ed license. Not so hopeful now.

Hey Greg,
You are able to use Minecraft: Education Edition without being an educator.
You can learn more how to purchase commercial licensing here: https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/4415061129236-Purchasing-Minecraft-Education-Edition-for-Homeschooling-Family-use
If we need to I can make a ticket for us and we can continue our chat over there and go into further details of the issue you are running into.

Is there a workaround?Minecraft for Windows version 1.19.11 doesn't seem to fix this issue.
When will Code Connection for Minecraft work on Minecraft for Windows?Minecraft for Windows v1.19.11

I purchased a commercial license for the Education Edition following the link in the thread by Danny from the Support Team.
The license is only $12/year and worth it to me for the extra material available through the educommunity site. I haven't checked the Minecraft Education Edition/Code Connection link yet, but there is a ton of information/guidelines/tutorials available on the educommunity site.
