Feature Request for Minecraft Education Edition
Hello Minecraft Education Team,
Thank you for creating Minecraft Education Edition. I have a few ideas that I think would make it even better for students and creators.
1. Better Add-on Support
Please support more Minecraft Bedrock add-on features so creators can build educational companions, simulations, and interactive projects.
2. JavaScript API Support
Please add support for more of the Bedrock JavaScript API in a safe, education-friendly way. This would allow students to learn programming while creating educational experiences.
3. Custom Entity Improvements
Please improve support for:
-
Custom entities
-
AI behaviors
-
Animations
-
Models and geometry
-
Render controllers
-
Resource and behavior packs
4. Experiments
Please allow creators to enable compatible experimental features in Minecraft Education Edition, or provide an Education Edition equivalent. This would make it easier to test new educational ideas and use more modern creator tools.
Why this matters
These features would allow students and teachers to create:
-
Educational companions
-
Science simulations
-
History guides
-
Language-learning assistants
-
Interactive museum exhibits
-
Coding projects
-
Classroom adventures
I'm currently creating an educational companion named Verity, a friendly yellow ball who teaches players about Minecraft and encourages learning. Expanded creator tools would make projects like this much more engaging and useful in the classroom.
Thank you for considering these ideas and for continuing to improve Minecraft Education Edition.
