iPadOS chat typing not typing with keyboard

On iPadOS 26 or later, when you are using the keyboard and mouse, when you open the chat, you can't start typing straight away you need to click on the text box to begin typing. For example, on MacOS, you can type your chat/command straight away, but on iPadOS, an extra click is needed. Also, when sending the message/command, you can't press enter, you have to click once or twice on the send button to send the action. Note: This is in windowing mode, not full-screen app mode.
