What do you do when you get lost in minecraft?
I had gotten lost during building. The build was important as it was for a school assignment.

Hi Sophie PRICE,
I'm sorry to hear that! Happens to us all at some point in our Minecraft Journey.
If you've built your project close to the world spawn point (where you first started in the world), equip a compass on your hotbar, and it will point you back to that spawn point. The needle on the compass will start flipping around once you move over that point.
If you've built your project away from the spawn point, it will be a quite a bit more difficult. I would start from the spawn point and look and see if you remember any terrain or world features from when you first started and see if you can trace your way back. I would also use the blank maps item to begin creating a map of areas I've searched so you're not constantly looking in the same places.
A bit of a stretch, but if you've build your structure near a shipwreck, village or other such thing, you could use the /locate command to point to the nearest feature, and hopefully your structure is close by.
For future, I would recommend turning on "Show coordinates" in the world settings. This will provide you with your x y z coordinates in game. You can note down where you are building structures so you can find them easily later on.
Hope this helps!
