Optional school-only friends list for classmates (online status & world visibility)
Hello Minecraft Devs,
I would like to suggest adding an optional friends list feature in Minecraft Education Edition that only works within the same school or class environment. This feature would allow us students to see whether our classmates are online, offline, or currently in a world.
This would make it much easier to collaborate during lessons, especially in group projects and coding activities where students need to quickly find and work with each other. It would improve communication, teamwork, and lesson efficiency without needing external apps or tools.
To keep the platform safe and suitable for education, the feature should be fully optional and controlled by schools. Teachers or IT administrators could choose whether to enable or disable it depending on their school’s policies. It should also be limited strictly to school accounts, ensuring that no interactions are made outside of the classroom environment.
Overall, I think this feature would support our learning by making collaboration easier while still being able to maintain a safe and controlled environment in Minecraft Education.
Again this is just my opinion and suggestions to adding a new feature
