URL for iPad to use exsting SSO token (via MS Authenticator)
Hi all,
We are in the proces of moving all our users 'passwordless' authentication, which includes our iPad users (who need Minecraft).
All users have MS Authenticator signed in, and a Passkey setup on their device.
Unlike the Microsoft Office apps, Minecraft's authentication web view does not appear to pass out to the system browser for MS auth (which would then either auto login with existing SSO token or allow passkey auth) but rather looks like an embeded older style MS login webview.
When the user enters their email address, they are redirected to our Entra tenant (I can see the branding), but are only offered password as the authentication method... 🤔
I have added the Minecraft Bundle ID and a bunch of extra SSO URLs found on this site, but so far I have been unable to get the iPad app to use the MS Authenticator SSO token that already exists (e.g. all the other MS apps log in with it and also Safari/Edge both use it for 3rd party web app SSO no problem).
Looks like this has been asked previously (here) but with no replies.
Any Minecraft or Microsoft staff who can assist with this one? Given Microsoft's messaging and push towards Passkeys and Passwordless auth, this should be a fairly straightforward fix if I can get the right info from the team! 🙂
Thanks, John
