Hi there Brian Strickland. I'm going to open a ticket with you directly for this issue. Please be on the lookout for an email from us!

I have the same issue as OP where a student from a particular class is unable to join one world even though the rest of his classmates can join the world. "Locating server" message appears and eventually disconnects after some minutes. He can join other worlds that the teacher creates and can join friends' worlds but not that one particular one. Is there a fix?

This might be due to the client version of the game, so I would check that the students are running the same version. Is this a hybrid network situation or is everyone on the same network? One thing to try is to block and unblock that student to see if that resolves the error. You can also try making a copy of that world, hosting that copied version, and seeing if the students have better luck connecting. Also be aware that there is a 30-user limit that can connect to one world at a time. Something that might be occurring but not likely is if the student's login is different than the other students. Check the @domain part and see if the students have matching addresses.

Thank you for your reply. Everyone is on the same network and using the latest version of Minecraft. I tried making a copy of the world and was unable to connect with the same student. We are not reaching the 30 user limit as the class size is 25. The student's email domain is the same as the others. You mentioned blocking and unblocking a user and I had read that blocking wasn't a feature for Education Edition. Is this an error? Can you share with me the process to block and unblock? I tried using /ban and /pardon but those commands were not available. Thank you.
