Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our engineers are aware of this issue and we'll be sending out a hotfix for Windows devices with this error either later this week or early next week. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Windows Hotfix 11/11/2021 - We have released a hotfix (v1.17.30.52) for the Windows version of Minecraft: Education Edition that will fix an issue that caused a "Sign-in required" error on specific proxy environments. This will roll out similar to any other update on Windows. See our PC update article for more info.

Also having this issue.
1. Windows 10 1909
2. Dell Inc. Precision Tower 3620
3. Connected DTN via Cyberhound
4.
We run into this issue every time an update is pushed out. Devices are connected to the network.
There is a split of about 50% of devices that run into this issue, the others still authenticate and login successfully.
In the past, the fix to this has been the following;
1) 1 user runs into this issue but a different user on the same machine does not -> Reset the affected users profile.
2) All users run into the same issue -> Reinstall the program
Any advice is much appreciated1 -
Good to see another Northern Territory teacher Tom!
We are having the same problem at our school too. I reckon minecraft has something extra that needs to be white listed by the department.

hi, im also dealing with the same problem. it has been doing this for a while now and all of my school buddies computers are doing the same thing.
the internent i am connected is school internet, and it has all of the bars. how can i fix this?

How I fixed this issue was to delete the old version of minecraft education edition that was on my computer. I found it by going to the search bar at the bottom typing in Minecraft and I saw that I had 2 icons I chose the one that I was no longer using (I knew because it was a different color background) and I removed it. As soon as I restarted it I made sure there was only one version, it has worked perfectly ever since.

Dennis Houfek That was solid troubleshooting! So, this issue can occur is port 19132 is not forwarded on the network you are trying to access through and as Dennis stated if there are two versions of Minecraft Education installed. Removing one should fix the problem. As for Chromebooks however the two versions are not something you currently need to look into. The most likely issue is that the school is using a proxy. We do not support all proxies at this time and that may be causing the issue. Try working with your teachers or IT department to see if the proxies can be turned off to test if that fixes the problem.

Hi, I'm having the same problem as them on my school device. I have tired to uninstall the app but i need an admin user and password. I don't know what the admin info is as i am only a student. This app work on some computers but not all. What should I do?

School devices will require the involvement of your IT department to remove and reinstall the application.
What kind of devices are you having the issue on? Generally, I've found we've had the most issues on chromebooks, and the culprit is usually a lack of space.

So this has been happening to me too for some reason while all my other classmates can get on Minecraft without problems and I've tried fixing it with settings so have my classmates (90% of us have same type of laptop) and settings kept shutting me out same with the game so I could not fix it

Hi, I'm sorry for the trouble. I'm going to suggest things you may have tried, and then give a few - oh just in case it works - idea. =]
Try again after each * =]
* restart your computer. * back-up your games and reinstall Minecraft. * on a chromebook you could try a powerwash. * in desperation you could uninstall and reinstall Minecraft after backing up your games.
* another thing to try is to be sure your Office365 sign-ins are working. You can do this by opening Microsoft Teams and signing in in the lower left corner.
