Cant remove shield

im playing on education edition 1.17 and there is a bug where i cant remove my shield from my shield slot when i try to remove it it just tps back

  Try leaving the world, and changing your skin. When you re-enter you can remove the shield (at least I could) but doing it mid-game isn't solved yet.

  I wanted my shield to come off, but I can't do it because of the annoying shield bug.

  Me too. I am never using a shield again if this keeps on happening.
