We’re thrilled to announce that the long-awaited features of Minecraft 1.16 (Nether update) and 1.17 (Caves and Cliffs part 1) are coming to Minecraft: Education Edition! Check out these coming features and more in our GOAT Beta which is live today!

Coding: On rare occasions, while coding in Code Builder, the code may run out of order or skip steps.
UNESCO Global Build Challenge: Unable to continue dialog with NPC near start and unable to leave the conversation.

Our betas normally last 4-6 weeks before we release to general availability. However, we are not able to provide an exact release date at this time.

When is the actual version of Minecraft:EE Nether Update coming out? Not Beta cause me and friends don't want to use it. We only like to use proper updates. We were happy but partly disappointed that we could not have the actual update.

Justin if you join the beta do you get the game or is it just like when the uptade comes out you get the uptade i dont understand

GoodSideAlien Studio's A license is required to access the beta just like it is required to access the current version of Minecraft: Education Edition. Installing the beta does not grant free access.

Hats off to the EDU Team for an excellent job on this update! Truly a splendid addition to EDU. One slight issue however, the block solidity seems to be slightly off in the beta. Especially in creative, hitting your head on blocks while jumping seems to sometimes put your head inside the block. Other than that, there is the lag that is expected from a first day beta, and some minor bugs with piglins attacking you even with gold armor on in certain circumstances. Excellent job, EDU Team!
Edit: upon further notice, the issue isn't with creative flying, it is with moving very fast in general. Also, this issue that I found only seems to apply in bastion remnants, which is understandable, as they are a new structure. Congrats on the update!

Diyorbek Tillyaev probably about a month to a month and a half in the future, that is the usual amount that it takes to work out kinks in the update.

Just downloaded the GOAT Beta and looks great! I copied my 'minecraftpe' folder FIRST -- before opening 1.17.30.2, but everything in my existing saved worlds worked just fine.

how do i download the goat beta

In this new update, it seems that the second I create a join code, the entire world freezes, mobs stop moving, buttons and levers don't work, and you can't open your inventory. All of the teachers in our school are experiencing similar difficulties. Any ideas?
(This happens when a join code is created. Also, no one can join the world after a code is created, probably linked to the freezing issue.)

hi i need some help!!! I installed minecraft ed. on my chromebook but when I open minecraft ed. it says I need to sign in but won't let me! HELP!

Make sure you restart your computers and then try the Beta again . . . .

prine royale can you give us more details about the device you are using where you are seeing this issue? It would be great if you can let us know the exact steps you take to get to this issue.

We are all using the school issued chromebooks, which are pretty good when it comes to FPS, memory, RAM, etc. When someone creates a world, it works perfectly well, but when we create a code for our students to join, it freezes the world completely as I mentioned above. This didn't happen in the 1.14.60/.70 versions, but this beta seems to have this issue for us.

Problems with the Windows version.
When the language is set to "Japanese", it cannot be displayed correctly.

Hey, don’t want to rush the Minecraft Education Edition, but I want to know when it the full release coming. The lausd downloader doesn’t allow a beta tester, and there are limited app (Test Flight isn’t there). So I would like to know when the full release is coming.

Not to be rude or anything, but I really can’t wait, I’ve been waiting sense June/July 2020, and I’m so excited!
I wish I could provide feedback but sadly I can’t. So I hope it come fast than 4 week(one month).
In also really exited about Minecraft Live, do you guys have any panels/appearances.

For me personally, this is a great step to getting to the more recent updates. This jump has been needed for a while. 1.14 is fun and all but to get the most recent versions on this platform is amazing. We will all be cheering you guys on the entire way to the finish line. Thank you. 🐐

Everyone cannot get it yet, we need to be patient with them. The people who can get the beta should give them feedback to see what to fix.

While playing together, we found a baby zombie. Once it ran into another mob, it would ride it and control it. This worked for skeletons, cows, spiders, all mobs we could find. Its not a game breaking bug, but it if ran into a wither that would be really hard to fight.

Will a form of continuous hosting be available to the public? If so, educators could create a world that at any point in time they could check on how their students are doing, and the students could be able to work on it at home while the teacher will not have to leave their device on.

This is not a bug at all, this is a game mechanic that was added to minecraft bedrock in the 1.14 update. Look here for more details-

There is not a button or way for picking up fish or axolotls in a bucket for ipad, and i have the beta fully updated to 1.17.30.3, so please fix this issue because it has been like that for years.

Any estimate on repairing the UNESCO Build Challenge world? My students are eager to get started but they can't get past the NPC (as noted above). The challenge is a very short timeframe when you only see students a few times a week.

Will Minecraft Education ever get experimental features such as the ones in Bedrock? I'd really like to see more addons being able to be used as most of them need experimental features. 0 -
Hi Mary Phillips - the team is still working on getting the UNESCO build challenge world to work in the beta. Since it is a short timeframe, you may want to consider uninstalling the beta and installing the production 1.14 build to complete the challenge.
