    Hello Greg Varady-Szabo-

If your school is part of the New South Wales (NSW) Department of Education (DOE) and you previously had access to Minecraft: Education Edition, but no longer have access, you will need to request access through a process managed by the DOE.

You can find information on how to register for access here: https://t4l.link/mee

On this page, the most relevant info is likely under the "Licenses" category which has a license registration form.

If you have further access/license issues, you should reach out to the NSW Technology team. For other issues, let us know and we'll see how we can assist.

  • Hi Penny or other support person. This is with the NSW DOE. Other students and myself have no problem logging in with the same program in the same room. It would therefore seem it is not a lisencing issue.

Hi there Greg Varady-Szabo. Penny is correct here. New South Wales manages their licenses at a district level, you will need to follow the link Penny provided in order to have a proper license assigned to these students.

    Hi there ,

My children have the same message "Trial Ended Your school needs to purchase a license for you" when login. Account is with the NSW DOE. The link above from Penny does not work. Tried to ask school and they have no idea. Been using since last year. Checked with some classmate and theirs are still working. Please help.

Kris Chow I just updated the link, could you give it another try?  This should take you to a login page for the NSW DOE:

    https://t4l.link/mee

The Minecraft: Education Edition licenses are managed by the DOE IT group.

I'm trying to help out my local Primary school with this (my children go there, + I volunteer in Computer Lab). I'm a Microsoft Certified IT guy, career changing to teaching atm.

We've got through the 'new license required thing; all good now. But when a teacher set's up a world, no student can connect, using the Join Code. We've also tried as a 'student' sharing with another... still no go. I assume that NSW DET are a Tenant on Microsoft AU's hosted MEE platform. Is there an issue with accessing that platform remotely please? It's *almost like* the Worlds are being created locally (on the Teacher's machine at home); they are currently not working from NSW DET premises, or even via VPN, AFAIK. Clues? Are these Teacher created worlds actually cloud hosted (optionally/always/never) or is the cloud *just* for SSO/AAA?

    Any help greatly appreciated. mike@itmustwork.com.au

    Hi Penny

I'm trying to access the page you've linked for my daughter, who attends a NSW DOE school and previously had access to Minecraft Education Edition. Once logged in with her credentials, that page gives a 404 error with a "[an error occurred while processing this directive]" message at the top of the screen. We've tried this several times over the past few months with the same result.

Thomas Black I'm sorry your daughter is having persistent problems. Is she able to log in when at school? I assume you will need to confirm her account with the NSW DOE IT group to be sure she has a valid license associated with her office 365 account. Andrew L or Justin will know more about this than I do. Keep us updated!

    Hi Deborah

I don't know if she's able to access that particular link from school - we tried it from home and it never worked, I assumed it would be the same at school. Unfortunately a bit hard to test now with home learning.

I did read on another forum though that you should contact your school if you have any issues - I asked them for assistance in June and was told my request was forwarded on to the "tech support guy"; unfortunately no response since.

    Hey there Thomas Black

That's pretty odd that they get a 404 error when trying to access Minecraft: Education Edition. I've gone ahead and created a ticket for you, but it may very well be dependent upon getting in contact with your IT team. I'd continue to reach out to them while we investigate together.

    Hiya

Thanks Justin. Here's what we see going to that link (after login with NSW SSO):

FYI - to all those following this thread. After logging a ticket with Minecraft support and them playing relay with the Department of Education, we confirmed that the link provided above (Penny's post) doesn't work for parents or students, we believe it only works for Educators. This means you have to have someone at your child's school click through on that link and request a licence.

Unfortunately I previously requested this support from my school and they never responded to my query. As a result, after significant effort, I've given up on Minecraft Education as an educational resource.
