Thirt Party Websocket Support
If you have ever used the classroom mode program, you know about the /connect and /wsserver commands. The names make sense, they connect Minecraft to a web socket server (in this case classroom mode).
Classroom mode uses web sockets, so technically, you could connect your own program to Minecraft. Imagine coding a program similar to classroom mode. But not only that, but third party management programs connected to other school software or just programs that add some cool features like a map exporting program, proximity chat plugin for Teams/Discord, a chatbot, etc.
The problem: There is no documentation for the API. It is unclear what is possible and what not. There is a community documentation though, but it still doesn't have all the features and misses things like encryption.
Here is reddit post talking about it https://www.reddit.com/r/MCPE/comments/5qf4ah/websockets_huge_potential_currently_unusable/

This is a repost since I posted this in the wrong place.

Yeah I completely agree, also I'd like to mention that this used to affect bedrock edition, but not anymore because they removed code connection functionality for bedrock /:
