Minecraft Education Dedicated Server Limitations
I understand the dedicated server is still in Beta, but was hoping you could clarify the current limitations. Aumme teh following:
Alice and Bob are students with Chromebooks. The log into their schools accounts with them and also use them to play Minecraft Education. They can host each other in minecraft when not in school by sharing generated passcodes.
Given the above,
1. Can a third party, such as a parent, host a Minecraft EE Dedicated Server?
2. Is hosting restricted to Azure?

Hey Liam,
It is possible to host servers across Microsoft 365 tenants. However, this would take a very intentional setup between IT Admins to both allow other M365 Tenants to be added to servers, and for each server to add a trust between the tenants. This is a complex setup, that requires cooperation from IT Admins on both ends.
As for hosting, no it is not restricted to Azure. You can host off of any VPS, or self-host from any server running:
Ubuntu 18+
Windows Server 2016+
Windows 10 1703+
Windows 11
