Blocking resource packs with Intune
I've got Minecraft Education Edition deployed on iOS devices across our division, and students have been installing resource packs from 3rd party sites with non-school appropriate content.
Is there a way to block resource pack installation through Intune via custom OMA-URIs or via some sort of setting?

Hey there,
We understand how this type of scenario can cause frustration.
From what I know at this moment, Minecraft Education doesn't have any central management options that would allow for blocking resource through an Admin Center. We're working on ways to fill this gap, while still making things usable for lesson creators, and teachers who want to make custom lessons.
Our support team doesn't have quite the knowledge on OMA-URIs to lead you in the right direction, however you could potentially use a Custom URI to block users from editing the resource pack folder. (Minecraft Education Edition/games/com.mojang/resource_packs).
iOS sandboxes this directory so students shouldn't be able to easily access, or modify this folder, however we are aware of some ways they can get to it.At this time, our general suggestion to this is to use your firewall, or other proxy services, to block all of the common services students can grab resource packs from. I won't post the common links here as students can access the forum, however a quick Google Search should lead you to the common links they use.
Hopefully, we'll have some better options for users down the line!1 -
Thanks so much for your response! I appreciate the insight.
