Student cant join hosted worlds

Good day community. 

I have been using minecraft with my classes for a little while, but unfortunately some students always have problems joining hosted worlds, it says it cant join the server. All the students use 8th Edition iPads and i have tried different usernames and log ins, tried entering the IP address but still nothing is working. 

 

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  Hi Nicholas, 

  For iPad specifically, you may want to check that Local Network Discovery is allowed for Minecraft in the iPad settings. 
  
  If you navigate to Settings > Privacy > Local Network, you should see Minecraft Education Edition listed. Check that it has been toggled to green.
