Minecraft Agent Not Moving
Hi everyone,
Hope this hasn't been covered somewhere else. Our class is using Microsoft MakeCode with blocks. We are trying to get our agents moving.
When we have a block - On chat Command "run" and place an agent action within it, it doesn't seem to be moving when the player types in run to the chat...
Is there a step I have missed, or is this an issue that people have encountered? I'm working in the DET Victoria.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Matthew Manuell I've moved your post to our coding forum to get you help from our coding community!

Hi Matthew - Debbie's advice is on target.

Thanks Debbie and Laylah. All very clear advice. These are the steps I've been following and still no movement yet! I might try and take a screen recording and upload it to YouTube to show you.

I am having the same issues. Right now I can't even get my agent to move on start when I click the green button. I'm in the Hour of Code Inclusion world using block coding. When Code Builder actually loads (because it has been having issues lately) I make my code and press the green play button. Then nothing happens. In the Museum Heist game where the code starts on a chat command, the agent (Wonder Woman) won't move when I type that command. This issue is happening on my Chromebook and PC. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, restarting the computer, and creating new worlds. Nothing is fixing it.

I would definitely submit a help ticket on this, Courtney Thompson
Matthew Manuell - are you resolved on this now? Did you send a support ticket?
0 -
Still not resolved yet unfortunately. Where's the best place to submit a support ticket?
Thanks.

Matthew Manuell Courtney Thompson you can submit a request to the support desk using this link, and we can also keep troubleshooting in the forum. https://aka.ms/MEE_New_Request
Could you make a recording and either send it to us by replying to the email you get from the support desk if you open a ticket, or post here in the forum?

Here is a video of what I'm experiencing that I made to send to the person communicating you through my help ticket. I thought it might work today, but then I still got similar errors.
I have already sent the list of URLs to our IT department but it's still having issues.

Gee, that looks like no fun. =[
I am sure someone else knows more than I do, but have you tried getting out of that world and resetting code builder with this little button?
0 -
Yes. I've tried resetting it in the game. I don't know how to find that screen. I'm using the app on my PC.

Hi Courtney. Whenever I experienced this I have had my students delete the world and restart. I have 750 students and when doing this year's Hour of Code we had this happen randomly. The only fix was to delete and redo. I wish I had a better answer. - Jason

We're working on a new article to address these types of issues. Take a look, let us know if this helps:
Clear your cache inside Code Builder
Follow these steps to clear your cache inside code builder.
- From the code interface, select Settings by clicking the gear icon on the top bar/navigation
- Select Reset.
Clear your cache from your system files (PC Only)
Follow these steps to clear your cache from the system files of your Windows PC.
- Close Minecraft: Education Edition.
- Open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp.
Note: “USERNAME” refers to the user account used to log in to the device, not the sign in for Minecraft: Education - Locate the minecraftpe folder
- Rename or delete the folder.
Note: Alternatively you can - Relaunch Minecraft: Education Edition. If Code Builder:
- Launches, no further action needed.
- Does not launch, contact the support team via the submit a request
If you have tried the solutions in this article and are still having issues, contact the support team via the submit a request form and include this information:
- Whether you're using a VPN or proxy, and if so, which brand.
- Which device and OS version you’re using.
- Which version of Minecraft: Education Edition you are using (bottom right corner of screen).
- A screenshot of the error.
- A network trace (if possible).

(I don't have the problem but I was following along)
In temp I have a folder called minecraftepe, and in that folder I have a folder called codeBuilderV1
Is that what you mean in step 3 above, or do I not have the folder?

I'm so glad I posted this article preview because you found a typo! You are correct, this should read "minecraftpe\codeBuilderV1"
Thank you for testing this for us Deborah. :-)

Update! Our devs are actually recommending renaming or deleting the entire minecraftpe folder. Updating steps above...

The advice given to whitelist a list of sites was what worked for us.

Lindelle Wombwell, do you still have a copy of that list?
We are encountering a similar issue and wonder if this might be the solution.

Elliot Here is a link to document with a list of websites to whitelist. ( I will ask Andrew L and Penny to chime in as to whether this is the most recent doc out there. pls and thanks on that!)

Ninja'd by Lindelle Wombwell Thanks! You found what I was looking for! You're the best! =]

That's amazing, thank you both.
We've implemented the whitelist and unfortunately, our issue of launching the code builder in the Museum Heist lesson persists.
In my limited testing, I can see that the code builder can display properly when we're not at a code building section (i.e. the main lobby and entrance to the museum) and that testing other lessons, such as Code Fun 1.1 & Python Islands 1, the code builder works fine.
I'm inclined to believe that the issue lies with the actual lesson rather than the MCE files, however, I'm still willing to try out other solutions that might crop up.

Hi Deborah,
Clearing the cache with the instructions above was one of the first things I did and it looked to make no difference for me.

So sorry for the trouble!

Andrew L could you help out?
