Unable to connect to world

I'm trying to connect to a world with a student of mine but I keep getting a message saying 'unable to connect'. I've not experienced this problem before however I know a few of the other students at school have experienced the same issue when trying to join worlds with others. I have attempted both symbols and IP.

  Student is not hosting from home, student is in school and hosting. We have tried using symbols, IP and changing host and still having issues. Have also tried the different WIFI connections available at school and ensuring we are on the same WIFI and it did not make a difference.
