Students receive "Trial has ended" message
Hi there I only just got my students to download the Education Edition last week and some of my students are already getting this message. We learn via distance (correspondence school) so I am unsure how to fix this? I am meant to be running weekly classes and thought I could use this but if they are getting these messages we won't be able to use it?

I need help playing Minecraft Education, I have already made a account, my teacher has already told me I can play this game but the thing is I don't know how to play this game, right now all of my classmates are playing but not me, I would have to sit here doing nothing for almost 2 hours, I have already finished all my work so I can play, but the problem is that I can't play, I tried multiple ways already, I tried searching on google how to, searched on this website how to, tried downloading the app but every time it says "Sorry about that! Something went wrong, but we are making things right. Try refreshing or come back later." This is the result of what happens every time when I'm trying to get on the Microsoft Store to download the game, if you are wondering I am on windows. If nobody helps me then I will have to sit in a classroom almost every other day for three years straight I would just be sitting around and me being bored for 2 hours, I just want to play with my friends but I can't because of this issue.
The main point is if there is still a way or not so...
It is ok if there is not a way so if you tell me there is no way, you are actually helping me by not wasting my time, but if there is still a way then whoever reads this and replies with a way that will 100% work for the situation I am in right now I thank you.

Hey there!
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with Minecraft Education!
I would recommend reaching out to your school's IT admin and show them the error you are getting to see if your account should have access to Minecraft Education and if so I'm sure they will help you work towards getting it.

Hey there!
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues logging in because of the trial message.
I would recommend reaching out to your school's IT admin to have them make sure your students are assigned licenses for Minecraft Education in Admin Center.

Hey there,
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues as well.
Same as above - I would recommend reaching out to your school's IT admin to have them make sure your students are assigned licenses for Minecraft Education in Admin Center.

Hi there Jayde Demanser. Since the licenses on your student accounts have expired, you may need to talk to an IT admin at your school, or someone with admin and purchase permissions to set your student accounts up with full licenses.

We were told that as long as you had a Microsoft account that there would be no issue as it's free to schools?
- New Zealand: as there is a national agreement with the Ministry of Education with M365 A3 (2019-21) schools can get M:EE at no cost. Licenses are required and can be sourced by contacting nzschools@datacom.co.nz and requesting “M365 A3 licenses with Minecraft:EE”

Hi Jayde-
I'm going to open a ticket on your behalf and we can investigate your licensing situation.

Hi henry do - I'm so sorry you lost access to Minecraft: Education Edition. The New South Wales DOE recently changed the way they distribute licenses to students, and you'll need to reach out to your school IT support to apply for access.

Penny hi Penny. I am having this issue in my school this week with a small number of students. DOE NSW school. What work arounds/possible solutions do you have please?
-1 -
From what you describe the solution is to reach out to the IT department or the DoE. Can you explain more about the issue that the students are running into?

Daniel Smith - I don't know if your problem is resulting from the same root cause as mine. (sometimes we never know with tech things!) A regular student who comes in after school at the same station in a regular account all of a sudden had this problem. What I did was log in to the free hour of code lessons and then the accoutn seemed to "find" the connection again after. I am assuming I had a brief case of spotty internet. Just a troubleshootin option for you, but let us know; we want to help and see this resolved! =]

I am creating a ticket for you Daniel so we can address the issue more thoroughly.

Hey there Alexis,
Are you a student using a school issued account or is this a personal account?

Getting "trial has ended" We have over 100,000 students with Minecraft licenses. Most are working fine on our iPads however we have several at each school that get the "trial has ended" message. They are all licensed. Why is this happening? The students are on the wifi at schools, using student accounts, other students around them are working, no matter what iPad they use the students logins are not working.

Hey Denise,
Thanks for your question, I believe you have submitted a ticket as well. Please look for our response there! :)

Hi! I always get children with Minecraft education saying free trial has ended. Why is this happening?
The children need some education. Can you please help?-1 -
Hey there,
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with the free trial screen. I would reach out to your IT admin to learn more. They will be able to tell you which accounts have Minecraft Education licenses attached to their accounts and which do not.

The licensing model changed when MCEDU authentication was moved to 365 Admin Center.
- Make sure you have all your users in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
- Assign teachers this license: Microsoft 365 A3 for faculty
- Assign students this license: Microsoft 365 A3 for Students Use Benefit
- Make sure users are logging in to Minecraft with their 365 account
You must have a valid A3 license agreement. If you're still using A1, you will need to talk to your licensing team about changing to A3 (there may be additional licensing costs).
