Lack of Mods/Customization is Extremely Limiting

Having been active in the Minecraft community for years, it's very disheartening to see Mojang's continued lack of support for third-party software. Setting up new lessons with Education Edition has been an exercise in frustration as tasks that were once trivial in Java Edition, like generating worlds without structures, large terraforming tasks, or creating permissioned plots, are now very difficult, if not impossible.

It is certainly annoying to see so much work put into creating a slow drip of "official" templates and content that 99% of the time are of no use to any particular educator. Meanwhile, so little effort or care is put into creating tools, options, or APIs to empower users.

If not for chromebook support during this pandemic, I would be staying well away from this platform.
