No mobs spawning

In my current multiplayer world, which I host to play with my classmates, there are almost no mobs spawning (like 5 max. at the same time) and this is a little annoying because we can't farm different mobs. It is set on hard difficulty and I've checked if everything is on to allow mobs to spawn. What can I do to improve the spawn rate of mobs?

  there are no monster's spawning in my minecraft world what can i do?

  Hi Hannah Monsalve, 

  Could be a couple of things. 

  Check your settings to make sure your world is set to Difficulty: Easy

  If you scroll down a bit from here under Cheats, make sure that Mob Spawning is toggled to the right.
