Changing in game username?

Hello, I was wondering if maybe an option could be considered for changing in game username for students. For example, transgender students who are unable to get a username change through admin. Even if this was just enabled for the students own worlds, I feel like it would be very helpful to some students

  yes I'd love to see this change too as I do not like my current username being my lastname rather than it use to be my first name with the first letter of my name which suits me better.

  Hi Patton Macnally thanks for sharing this - currently this is problematic as the ability would affect the fidelity of classrooms who want to be sure they are accounting properly for their kids. We hope you might be able to work through the O365 admin who should be able to change the name at that level?
