Hour of Code bug

I have trialed the hour of code before I get the students to have a go, however, I am stuck in the room at the very start without any way to move on with the tutorial. From the videos it looks like there should be a villager that you can speak to to move on but he has not spawned. Does anyone else have this issue or could it be my device.

  Hello Jonathan Larter,

  Thanks for posting. You need to walk over to the book in the middle of the room and right click. Then the villager will appear. Please let me know if this helps. Thanks!

  I've done that however after clicking the next button the book closes and there is no villager that appears. 

  I've started several times, turned off and on and installed and reinstalled with the same issue. Note: I am on a mac.

   Tried many times, but the rigth click did nothing for me.  I'm on a PC.
