I cannot find a way to update minecraft edu on my mac

  To update Minecraft: Education Edition on mac, you'll need to manually install the new version from our download page:

  https://education.minecraft.net/get-started/download/

  Before you do this though, please make sure you back up all your worlds in game, then uninstall M:EE. I hope this helps!

  Of course!  Why make it as simple as opening the app and clicking update?  Take all of your worlds and then put them into a folder and the delete the app and download the updated app.  Then find the world's folder and put your old worlds in that folder.  Simple is our motto at Microsoft. Simple is our motto.
