Students can't log in after 1.14.50 Update
Students are having problems logging in. Some can. Many can't. Some will be able to after they reboot their ipad 5-6 times. It will say "Something went wrong, check internet connection". Internet is working fine. Then, many of those who do get logged in can't connect to multiplayer (trying to join other student's created world). Haven't been able to use it in class due to these issues. Very frustrating considering Microsoft charges $5 per student.

Hello Everyone,
This update has a new required URL for login:
All authentication is now done using https://*.minecrafteduservices.com. If that domain isn’t allowed, it won’t be possible to sign into Minecraft: Education Edition. You can remove https://meeservices.azurewebsites.net/ from your allow list as it is no longer used for authentication.
You can find the whole list here: https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360047118992-FAQ-IT-Admin-Guide-
If you are getting an outdated server message when trying to connect to multiplayer, this is because not all users are on the same version.
If you see a "We can't connect to the service.." error this means you have two versions of the app installed and you need to remove one.

I have had select students encountering this problem as well. About one student per class gets that error message that prevents them from opening the MCEE program at all. Even if they click the little option below that would allow them to play a little demo level, it gives that same error message. Their internet is working fine and they can access other programs/sites that make use of our school district login.
We have tried
- Ensuring that there are no other installs or installer .exe for minecraft on the computer
- Restarting the computer
- Uninstalling and reinstalling MCEE

Having the same issues in Florida. My IT support provided this message from our school district:
We've tested everything we can and it does not appear to be a district issue, especially considering it is working for some students and not others. Microsoft just released version 1.14.50 yesterday and one of the changes was to how the app authenticates. This appears to be related to that update. Hopefully, they will get this bug fixed soon.1 -
It does appear to be caused by the update I think? The ones having the problem are the folks that had updated to the new version.

How do I got back to the old version. ;-)
Does anyone know how long these issues usually take to resolve? They literally can't use the program at all.

Same here in South Carolina. My account along with half of my students aren't able to log in. It says my login does not exist.
My students use Dell Latitudes and I use a Dell desktop, if that helps

I there a way to fix this problem?!

I approved the list of URLs, updated the app on Chromebooks, and still we are getting the same error. It is very disappointing as we can not use the tool and have to change our curricular plans now. Is there a fix for this I am missing?

The tech folks at my district had to update the list of approved sites based on the information in the patch notes and then I had to have students go through and do fresh installs of their Minecraft client apps, but now it appears to be working!

It's also worth checking on the port forwarding with your wifi router as that became an issue this week for me too. It had not previously been an issue...

Update - We are on chromebooks - I had the students remove their profile and re login. It worked!

On the chromebook, the signed out. Then clicked the arrow to "Remove Account." They then logged in again to set up the Chromebook new, and were able to access the Microsoft login screen in minecraft.

My students have Dell laptops running on windows 10 and we are having the same issue. It's not all my students, but about a quarter of them can't sign in. I have had them check their internet speeds and they are fine. They are able to login on other school computers but they need to be able to login to the laptops the school sent home with them. Please provide a solution.

Thanks Kyle,
I commented on a necro post in another thread before I saw this current thread, Sorry about the double post.
Some of my students on school laptops can't log in at all after the 1.14.50 update, but some of them can.
I'm going to copy your post to my IT dept. Wish us luck.

Any updates on this issues or ideas for a fix?

Jose Garcia and Joseph Borges have either of you had any luck yet?

I cannot seem to get it to work either. I have even uninstalled the program and redownloaded it. I need help. I need a solution. It makes it hard to complete an assignment with this issue and very frustrating for the students.

I have 20 students using MEE on their iPads in class, it’s working for 19 but sadly 1 can not access on his iPad due to this error.
I also tried logging myself in on his iPad and it had the same error. Internet connection is fine on the iPad

Thank you! My district was blocking minecrafteduservices.com on school laptops, even for students using them at home.
They took off the block and everyone has been able to log into 1.14.50 now. So far we haven’t had any problems since.
